I am unable to access my credit card account after installing IE7.

Here is the message I receive:

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
You cannot access Online Account Services with your current Web browser.

Possible reasons for this could be one of the following:

You are using a browser that is incompatible with our Online Account
Services system. We suggest Netscape version 6.1 or higher or Internet
Explorer version 5.5 or higher. For Macintosh users, we suggest Internet
Explorer version 4.5 or higher.
Your browser does not support 128-bit encryption.

Download free Web browsers

Internet Explorer: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/downloads/default.asp
Netscape: http://channels.netscape.com/ns/browsers/download.jsp

---------------------------------------------------------
I don't find the menu anymore where to set the encryption.

thank you for any help.

Hi Rock:

The most likely cause of your problem is that not all web sites are
ready for Internet Explorer 7, so when a web site sees that you are
running the new browser it thinks it's dealing with a browser it doesn't
support.

For the record, not all web sites work with Firefox or Opera either.

For now, the work-around is to fool the web site into thinking you're
using IE 6. Here's how:

"When you use Internet Explorer 7 to visit a Web site, you may receive
error messages that state that you do not have the most current version
of Internet Explorer"

You could try this for testing:
click the Tools button, and then click Internet Options.
Click the Advanced tab, and scroll down to the Security section.
Find and clear the Use TLS v1.0 check box.
Click OK.

If no difference, then recheck the box.
However, it appears they do not support IE7 yet.
Luckily all of mine do - was first thing I checked.

Mae, Earl,

thank you for the reply.
Neither solution worked. As it still works on my other credit card company
and my bank I suppose you are right and it does not recognize IE7. I shall
contact them on Tuesday to see wht they say.

Have a happy new year.

Thanks to all for the answers.

It seems that the bank has changed its home page because now I can access it.
