The IE Explorer icon hijacks all my thumbnail images, folder thumbnails, etc
how do I stop this.
It is a major pain as it covers up almost half the thumbnails making them
very hard to view.
Earlier questions on this very subject were not really answered or had a
solution.
Is there one now??
Cheers Isa

Hi,
First...
Try the procedure in this MSKB article to reset the icon cache:
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=926715 See if that works.

Next (less likely- but easy to check)
You may have an incompatible browser add-on.
See: http://www.enhanceie.com/ie/troubleshoot.asp
for troubleshooting information.

Next...
This procedure has solved a somewhat similar problem...

Uninstall IE7 (Add or remove programs> Windows Internet Explorer 7.)
Restart. Download and run ie-rereg from
http://iefaq.info/index.php?action=artikel&cat=24&id=31&artlang=en
Restart. See if IE6 keeps it's icons off of other files, folders, etc. If
so, reinstall IE7. Note that antivirus/antispyware programs should be
disabled when installing IE7.
Other installation tips at http://www.ie-vista.com/known_issues.html

Hope this helps,
Don
