I've had to reboot at least 15 times since loading IE7. Nothing but error
messages, IE closing down due to errors, pages not loading that I have had
bookmarked for years!

I want IE6 back - this is junk.

Open Control Panel\Add Remove Programs and scroll down to Windows Internet
Explorer 7
Click Remove, this will roll you back to previous version. You may have to
check the box for showing updates according to which version you have. I
also am including a couple of links to Microsoft's Internet Explorer home
page and support page where you can find the steps for installing,
uninstalling, etc.

Control Panel | Add or Remove Programs
Removing Windows Internet Explorer 7 returns you to IE6.

I know of two causes for the vast majority of such problems:
1. Incompatible add-ons: What if you right click the IE icon on the desktop
and choose Start Without Add-ons?
Or go to Start | All Programs | Accessories | System Tools | Internet
Explorer (No Add-ons).

2. Malware already installed on the computer: Help with malware

So How Did I Get Infected Anyway?
For quite a few people it's by installing Messenger Plus, whose ads for
malware don't identify the malware as such and try to convince you that you
owe it to the author. See also:

Don't ever do a "default" install of anything. Always choose Custom and see
what else is being carried along. Don't install any extras you're not sure
of.
