Hello...I've searched everywhere for the temp files for Internet Explorer 7
and can't find it. In the options area of explorer it shows the settings as
hidden although I have all folders and specifically the folder it says it's
supposed to be in as "show hiden files and folders" but it still doesnt show.
Where is it please?

You *should* be able to see the path by going to

Tools - Internet Options - General tab - Browsing history - Settings

and looking at the "Current location."

I'd assume that the Cookies would also be in that location, but I haven't
located them yet.

Yes! Thank you!

The actual path I typed was:

C:\Documents and Settings\Username\Cookies

and there they are - hundreds of them.

Hi...I have since converted back to Explorer 6. I know where the Temp for
Internet Explorer files is located in my local settings and can make it
available with "show hidden files and folders". But...my question was for
Explorer7. Even though you can see the path for it in Explorer 7
itself...when you actually go to the same location on you hard drive, in
local settings...the folder is not there. It's like Explorer 7 has moved it
or doesn't want you to have access to it. I couldn't find it and it drove me
nuts. I won't use 7 until i know I can access that file on my hard drive and
not through Explorer7.

If you're talking about C:\WINDOW\Temporary Internet Files it's where it
always was unless you've moved it. Besides showing hidden files now you gotta
UN-Hide hidden protected OS files.

You can acesses it directly through
C:\Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files

replace "username" with your "username", then copy it to the address bar of
any folder and click go (it worked for me).

PS:Please note that its c: if you have installed OS in c: ,change according
to drive of installation in case of double boots.

Alternatively. Option 2

It opens indirectly by clicking on the "veiw files" button found in

Tools > Internet Options > General tab > Browsing history > Settings > click
on "veiw files" tab.

Now the Temporary Internet Files opens in a seperate window.

though I seem to be a bit late with this suggestion hope it is useful. Try
IE7 again tabbed is better than the earlier. Thanks for reading

Same trouble. I frequently clear the cookies and temp internet files from my
kids docs and settings, but with IE7 neither folder is shown even with show
hidden files and folders option enabled. The default address for the temp
internet files is as you typed below, but neither this folder or the history
folder is appearing. Also the cookie folder address was C:\Documents and
Settings\username\Cookies , but it no longer appears there either. Weird! I
may default to IE 6 if a fix for this is not given, as I really do not want
to log onto each name and open IE7 to delete each user's files. That's just a
pain in the behind.

In IE6 I could delete temp internet files and all off line content. Then I
would go to settings, view files and all that would be left would be the
cookies. From that point I could selectively delete the cookies I did not
want. I would do this before closing the browser. Apparently that option is
not available in IE7. It's only common sense that one should be able to do
this. Will MS make this option available with a patch or fix?
