Newly installed IE7 ran horribly slow (enough so that I nearly used System
Restore to get rid of it and go back to Firefox.
I found info to disable Add-Ons, which speeded it up, but none on how to
selectively re-enable them. The Manage Add-Ons option under Tools is grayed
out. Help is appreciated.

Hi,
Windows XP?

How did you disable add-ons?

See if either of these procedures allows you to manage add-ons:
1. Right-click the IE icon on the Start Menu, choose Properties. Go to the
Shortcut tab. In the Target field, if "-extoff" is at the end of the path to
iexplore.exe, edit it out leaving "C:\Program Files\Internet
Explorer\iexplore.exe" (leave the quotes.)

2. Internet Options> Advanced> Browsing> check "Enable third-party browser
extensions."

Hope this helps,
Don

Start IE normally and use Manage Add-ons to find the culprit(s).
