This started of all the sudden. I didn't make any changes to the
browser but suddenly I am being prompted for a username/password by
our local intranet site. I have made all the recommended changes to
the internet zones and it still prompts me once every session for a
username and password. I didn't install any updates or anything. In
fact, it was right in the middle of day, I didn't even log off of my
computer and suddenly it started prompting me. Out of a company of
150, it is doing this to 4 of us, we just happen to be on IE7 while
most people are still happily back on IE6. Does anyone have any clue
what we can do to fix this problem? I am at a complete loss.

I'm having exactly the opposite problem! Sites I normally had to log in to
with user/password were OK, but recently instead of seeing the user/password
boxes I get an error message from the webserver "Invalid user name or
password".... I never see the log in screen.

I've also not changed anything on the PC or IE7 browser.

Hi,
In Internet Options> Security> Internet Zone> Custom Level> User
Authentication> select "Prompt for user name and password." You may need to
make the same change in Local Intranet Zone.

Also, from Control Panel> User Accounts> your account> Manage network
passwords, you may have to remove incorrect information.

Hope this helps,
Don
