IE hangs often: "Problem Event Name: AppHangB1"

IE 7 (Vista X64) hangs (very) often when I click a desktop ie icon or a link
and forces closure of
all open IE windows. In the dialog that asks me to close it says:

Problem Event Name: AppHangB1
Application Name: explore.exe
Application Version: 7.0.6001.18000
Application Timestamp: 47918f11
Hang Signature: 7766
Hang Type: 517
OS Version: 6.0.6001.2.1.0.768.3
Locale ID: 1033

Any way to fix the problem?
