Yep,
That registry key has a listing of disabled Addons (indexed by the addons'
UID). Here is the thread posted on the IE7 Extension development forum
http://forums.microsoft.com/MSDN/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=1068264&SiteID=1
Re: Malware toolbars
The purpose of the listing is to provide the file names and UID's of all
known toolbars. There is a link next to each toolbar which does a lookup of
it UID on the CastleCops database for users to validate the safety of their
installed toolbars.
I intend to do a bit more work on the page to detect which toolbars a
visitor has installed and enabled in their browser and perhaps a registry
hack to enable them to quickly identify and disable the toolbar and its
satellite BHO. On occasions too, users may require the download page url to
check for updates. In the end it is up to the user to make the decision to
install any addon. Besides we would not have any questions posted to the NG
if users did not install c.r.a.p. Perhaps we can mirror a malware database
on the MSMVP-IE site?
"The Team" made mention that they were going to incorporate the CastleCops
UID lookup into Manage Addons.
Perhaps also I will add user reviews... depends... not much spare time on my
hands at the moment (doing a 5hr commute to and from downtown at the moment,
lo!). I have to work a "real" job to pay the bills. lo!
Regards.

[Rob, listing/offering/hosting crap like Hotbar toolbar (even with the
"Free versions is full of ads and malware" disclaimer) on your Toolbars
page does a disservice to your site and its users IMHO.]

http://www.iecustomizer.com/?url=DisableYahooBHODownload.asp - Yahoo toolbar
layout hijack fix
http://iecustomizer.com/?url=DisableGoogleBHODownload.asp - Google toolbar
layout hijack fix. Google have fixed this in v5 beta.
Both fixes work by disabling the satellite BHO of the toolbar which resets
the toolbar layout when the toolbar is loaded at browser start. Disabling
the satellite BHO of the toolbars seems to have no effect on the toolbars'
functions.
The Live toolbar also insists on taking up a full line of the toolbar
layout. There is no fix for it though as the above method does not work for
it.

Post by VanguardLHPost by MeerI'm running IE7 on Windows XP SP2, and have three toolbars - Yahoo, Roboform,
and Site Advisor. I had to reinstall my Site Advisor and ever since then, my
toolbars INSIST on being on separate lines, flushed left. I've tried locking
and unlocking the toolbars to move them to where they used to be, but the
toolbars won't stay that way the next time I open IE.
I've been reading people with similar problems talking about ITBar7Layout,
DWORD, and changing it to 1. I do have an ITBar7Layout but the value
is
set
to Reg_Binary (value = 13 00 00 00....30 00 10 00 00....). Am I
suppose
to
CHANGE this to DWORD (value = 1) or is it set correctly? If it's set
correctly, then how do I fix this problem?

They also have a link to a Microsoft KB article. Basically, you exit
IE, you delete that registry key, and then reconfigure your toolbars in
IE.
